SliceSwitch Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Focus Labs Hungary Kft. (“Focus Labs”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles information in connection with the SliceSwitch mobile application (“SliceSwitch” or the “App”).

1. Data controller

2. Privacy summary

SliceSwitch is designed to work without a player account.

The App does not include advertising, third-party advertising tracking, social-media tracking, analytics or cloud-based gameplay profiles.

Gameplay progress and performance information are stored locally on the user’s device. Focus Labs does not automatically receive or access this locally stored gameplay information.

If the user makes or restores an in-app purchase, limited purchase and technical information is processed by the applicable app store and RevenueCat in order to verify the purchase and provide access to purchased content.

3. Information stored locally on the device

SliceSwitch may store the following information locally in the App’s private storage area:

  • completed levels and unlocked progression;
  • scores and earned stars;
  • gameplay accuracy and precision results;
  • best reaction times;
  • correct, incorrect and missed answers;
  • Focus Chain progress;
  • decision and precision ratings;
  • mastery and special-round summaries;
  • recent gameplay runs;
  • locally generated run identifiers and random seeds;
  • gameplay timestamps;
  • scoring and configuration versions;
  • tutorial, chapter and milestone completion;
  • failed-attempt counts;
  • sound and haptic preferences;
  • temporary, backup or recovery copies required to protect the local save file.

This information may describe how and when the App has been used. However, it is not automatically transmitted to Focus Labs or combined by us with a name, email address, account, advertising identifier, precise location or contact information.

The App does not request access to the device’s contacts, camera, microphone, photo library or precise location.

Purpose and legal basis

Local gameplay information is processed to:

  • provide the gameplay and progression requested by the user;
  • calculate scores, stars and performance results;
  • remember settings;
  • restore local progress;
  • detect duplicate or damaged gameplay records;
  • maintain the stability and integrity of the local save system.

Where the GDPR applies, this processing is based on the performance of the service requested by the user and our legitimate interest in providing a stable, functional and secure application.

4. In-app purchases and RevenueCat

SliceSwitch offers Levels 1–20 without charge. Levels 21–50 may be unlocked through a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase.

Payments are processed by the platform from which the App was downloaded, such as Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Focus Labs does not receive or store the user’s full payment card details.

We use RevenueCat to:

  • validate in-app purchases;
  • determine whether paid content has been unlocked;
  • restore previous purchases;
  • prevent purchase errors and entitlement fraud;
  • provide purchase-related support.

When the purchase system is used, RevenueCat and the relevant app store may process information such as:

  • purchase history and entitlement status;
  • purchased product identifier;
  • transaction or receipt information;
  • purchase and restoration timestamps;
  • store platform;
  • an automatically generated anonymous RevenueCat App User ID;
  • App and SDK version;
  • operating system and limited technical device information;
  • technical network information necessary to communicate with the service.

SliceSwitch does not require an account and does not intentionally provide the user’s name or email address to RevenueCat as an App User ID. The RevenueCat SDK may generate and store a random anonymous identifier for the installation.

Purchase-related information is processed to perform the purchase contract, restore paid access, provide support, comply with legal obligations and protect the purchase system against fraud or misuse.

RevenueCat acts as a service provider and data processor for Focus Labs when processing customer purchase information on our behalf. RevenueCat may process information in the United States and other countries in accordance with its privacy and data-transfer safeguards.

5. Support communications

If a user contacts us by email, we may receive:

  • the user’s email address;
  • the contents of the message;
  • information voluntarily included in the message;
  • purchase or technical information supplied for troubleshooting.

We use this information only to respond to the request, provide support, investigate a problem, protect our legal interests or comply with a legal obligation.

Support correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve and document the matter, unless a longer period is required by law or necessary in connection with a dispute.

Users should not send sensitive personal information that is not necessary for the support request.

6. External legal links and website access

The Privacy Policy and Terms of Service links in the App open in the device’s external browser.

The App does not add gameplay data, player identifiers or tracking parameters to these URLs.

When a user visits the Focus Labs website, the browser, hosting provider and internet infrastructure may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser type, request time and security logs. Website data handling is governed by the privacy information applicable to the Focus Labs website.

7. Device backups

SliceSwitch does not operate its own cloud-save service.

The device operating system may nevertheless include the App’s local files in a device backup, cloud backup or device-transfer process controlled by Apple, Google, the operating system provider or the user.

Focus Labs does not control these backups and cannot access them. Their handling is governed by the user’s device and cloud-service settings and the relevant provider’s privacy terms.

8. Sharing of information

Focus Labs does not sell or rent personal information.

Information may be disclosed only to the following categories of recipients where necessary:

  • Apple or Google for downloading the App, processing purchases, restoring purchases and providing platform services;
  • RevenueCat for validating and managing purchase entitlements;
  • technical service providers necessary to operate our website or support communications;
  • professional advisers where reasonably necessary;
  • public authorities where disclosure is required by law or a valid legal request;
  • a successor entity in connection with a lawful merger, acquisition, restructuring or transfer of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Locally stored gameplay information is not shared with these parties by the App unless the user independently includes it in a support request.

9. International data transfers

Local gameplay information remains on the user’s device unless it is included in an operating-system backup or voluntarily sent to us.

Purchase-related and support information may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for restricted transfers, such as adequacy decisions, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognised transfer mechanisms.

10. Data retention and deletion

Local gameplay information remains on the device until it is deleted through the operating system or the App is fully removed.

On Android, users can normally delete local information by clearing the App’s storage in the device settings or uninstalling the App.

On iOS, deleting the App normally removes its local application data. Using the iOS “Offload App” function may retain documents and data.

Operating-system or cloud backups may retain or later restore information according to the user’s backup settings. Focus Labs cannot directly delete backups controlled by Apple, Google or the user.

Purchase records and entitlement information are retained by the applicable store and RevenueCat for as long as necessary to verify and restore purchases, comply with legal obligations, maintain transaction records and resolve disputes.

Deleting RevenueCat information does not necessarily delete transaction records independently retained by Apple or Google.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information processed.

Gameplay information is stored within the App’s private storage area. No system can guarantee absolute security, and device security also depends on the user’s operating system, access controls, backup configuration and general security practices.

12. User rights

Depending on applicable law, users may have the right to:

  • request access to personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate data;
  • request deletion of data;
  • restrict processing;
  • object to certain processing based on legitimate interests;
  • request data portability where applicable;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

Because gameplay information is stored locally and is not transmitted to Focus Labs, we normally cannot identify, access or remotely delete it. Users can manage this information through their device by clearing the App’s storage or deleting the App.

For purchase-related requests, we may need an anonymous purchase identifier, store transaction information or other details necessary to locate the relevant record. We will not request more information than reasonably necessary to verify and process the request.

13. Children’s privacy

SliceSwitch is not specifically designed or marketed as a children’s application.

The App does not provide player accounts and does not intentionally request a child’s name, email address, precise location, contacts, photographs or advertising identifier.

In-app purchases are processed through the applicable app store and may require the permission or authorisation of a parent, guardian or store-account holder.

If we become aware that personal information has been provided by a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or otherwise handle it as required by law.

14. Automated decision-making

Focus Labs does not use personal data collected through SliceSwitch for advertising profiling or automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Gameplay scores, ratings and difficulty results are calculated automatically as part of the game but are used only to provide gameplay feedback and progression.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the App, purchase system, legal requirements or data-handling practices change.

The effective date at the top of the document will be updated. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
